New Product Information from Aanraku, Inc.
TWOFERS Ultra Fine Edge Finishing Bits for Fusing

Aanraku has developed an ultra fine grinding bit that eliminates dirty and obfuscated edges of fused glass. TWOFERS Ultra Fine bits allows the crystal clear clarity of the piece to show when full fusing or fire polishing in kilns. Now you can cut your work with glass saws, grind to specific shapes and lightly finish the glass edge with your TWOFERS UF600 bit before final firing for the perfect edge.

TWOFERS Ripple Bits
Aanraku has developed a double ripple bit for shape beveling glass edges for foil and lead came work. By adjusting down the top and bottom edges of heavily textured glasses it is easy to accurately foil and fit glass into came channels. Aanraku's TWOFERS Ripple Bits give double rippling surfaces for a working life per bit that is twice that of any other.

TWOFERS Jewelry Bits
Aanraku has begun producing 220 grit jewelry bits that cut a smooth channel around the perimeter of glass cabochons for fitting jewelry wire for hanging and wire wrapping fused glass. Aanraku's double plated 220 grit surfaced jewelry bit is adjusted to use up to 16 ga. wire for fixing and wrapping.

TWOFERS 1/8" Core Diamond Drill Bit
Aanraku's 1/8" diameter double plated core diamond drill bits are for use in drill presses to drill multiple holes in glass projects. Using a few drops of oil and your drill press at low speed allows you to drill holes for jewelry and hanging glass items. Ask for them at your favorite glass supplier.

Photo Resists make etching a breeze
Norm & Ruth Dobbins of EtchMaster® have announced that EtchMaster® now carries a complete selection of all 8 types and thicknesses of photo resist for glass etching. Photo resist is a revolutionary type of resist material that allows a glass etcher to create etchings of incredible complexity, whether one time or a thousand times, with no hand cutting of resist.
All that is required is the blank photo resist film, a good quality black and white printout or drawing, a UV exposure light and a washout sink. Simply expose the photo resist to the UV light with the artwork on top, wash out the areas to be etched, dry and apply the resist to the glass and blast. (There is even one type of resist that doesn’t require a washout!) You can create incredibly detailed images so fast you won’t believe it and you can easily make multiple images exactly the same, all with NO HAND CUTTING.
If you want to learn how to create photo resists in a class setting, Norm & Ruth offer a 3 day intensive workshop at Aliento Glass School in Santa Fe, New Mexico. In this class, students learn how to use all 8 types of photo resist and complete up to 12 finished projects on glassware, thick glass blanks, mirror, stone, and even ceramic tile and mugs. These photo resists give especially good results for etching tiny designs on iridized or dichroic glass for fusing and glass beads.
For a complete listing of the photo resist selection and the seminars available, visit the website, www.etchmaster.com/gcm or call toll free, 888-EtchPro.

Spectrum Adds Three Yummy Pinks and a Delicious Grape.
Spectrum Glass has introduced a quartet of luscious new pastels.
The new Quartz Pinks conjure thoughts of soft, delicate seashells. Quartz Pink Waterglass® shows just a hint of a tint, like looking at the world through rose-colored glasses. Add a pale opalescent swirl, and you've got the essence of romance: Quartz Pink Wispy. These colors are just a step beyond neutral in tone, but their impact is undeniable.
Cotton Candy is the perfect metaphor for two new pastels, one baby-girl Pink, one glossy Grape. Festive, fun, and so touchable you might be tempted to call them "fluffy," they go together as naturally as kids and carnivals. These two irresistible colors are part of the System 96® collection -- perfect for stained glass, for mosaics, and for fusing.
Here are the stock numbers - ask for them at your Stained Glass Retailer.
